Bonus Fall Xcursion

Saturday, November 14 · 1:00–2:30 p.m.

Animal Humane Society Xcursion

Students will get a behind-the-scenes look at how animals are cared for, explore careers working with animals, tour the shelter, and spend time with an animal.

Animal Humane Society, Golden Valley Grades 6–8

This supported community outing gives students room to follow their curiosity, connect with peers, and practice real-life skills in a fun, welcoming setting.

Real-World Learning Meets a Really Good Time

Xcursions are immersive community outings designed for middle school students entering grades 6–8. Each experience gives students a supported way to build executive function, everyday life skills, and social confidence while doing something genuinely fun.

Skills in Motion

Students practice planning, flexibility, communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving in the places those skills are actually used. Coaches are there to offer support, help students notice what works, and make unfamiliar experiences feel more manageable.

Connection Without Pressure

Shared activities give students a natural starting point for connecting with peers. There is room to participate in ways that feel comfortable and authentic, without expecting anyone to perform, mask, or socialize in one particular way.
