PROACTIVE PARENTING

Executive Functioning Essentials for Families

Parenting doesn’t
have to be done alone.

The Proactive Parenting Course is a self-paced online course for parents of kids ages 8–13 who want to better understand their child’s brain and reduce daily stress at home.

You’ll learn about executive function skills, the mental skills that help kids plan, focus, manage emotions, and follow through on tasks.

Inside the course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Understand your child’s strengths and where they get stuck
  • Create simple systems that make home life feel calmer and more predictable
  • Use practical, research-based strategies that support real, lasting growth

The course was recently updated with new videos, fresh lessons, and added resources, shaped by real feedback from parents who are living this every day.

And because parenting truly takes a village, your enrollment also includes access to our monthly Community & Connection Calls.

These live calls are a space to ask questions, share what’s working (and what’s not), and get guidance from Dr. Rachelle Hansen, clinical psychologist, neurodevelopmental specialist, and creator of the Proactive Parenting Course.

You’ll leave feeling supported, understood, and less alone.

Community & Connection

When you enroll in the Proactive Parenting Course, you are getting more than the videos and worksheets. You are joining a shared learning experience with real support.

On the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 12:00-1:00pm, parents are invited to a live Community & Connection Call led by Dr. Rachelle Hansen.

These virtual one-hour group calls are a space to:

  • Ask questions about the course and the tools

  • Talk through real-life parenting challenges

  • Get help implementing strategies when things feel hard or stuck

  • Learn from other parents who are facing similar struggles

Every family’s situation looks different, and these calls are designed to meet you where you are.

Included With Your Enrollment

When you purchase the course, you receive three months of Community & Connection Calls at no additional cost.

After that, continued access to the monthly calls is available for $28 per month, with the flexibility to cancel at any time.

Many parents choose to stay because the ongoing support helps the tools stick and the progress continue!

How This Works

This is a simple, supported path forward.

1) Start with the course.

The Proactive Parenting Course gives you a shared foundation. You’ll learn how your child’s brain works and gain practical tools you can use right away at home.

Everyone begins here so parents enter the community with the same language, understanding, and strategies.

2) Then, stay supported through the community.

The Community & Connection Calls are where parents bring the tools into real life. You’ll talk through challenges, troubleshoot barriers, and learn alongside other parents who truly understand what you’re navigating.

This shared structure creates clarity, connection, and confidence, without having to figure everything out on your own.

What are Executive Function skills?

Executive Functioning refers to the mental processes that allow us to plan, focus, remember things, and juggle multiple tasks successfully. Executive Function skills are the brain skills that help you get things done! LifeFx will help you develop and strengthen your Executive Function skills to make life easier.

What will the Proactive Parenting Course help me achieve?

This course helps parents understand their kids’ executive function challenges and learn how to strengthen those skills through practical, evidence-based strategies that work long term — no quick fixes. It bridges gaps, builds confidence, and helps your child become more capable and independent.

What kind of changes can we expect to see during this course?

The changes and progress we see will be unique to each individual student. Our goal in this course is to achieve independence and confidence by improving Executive Function skills. Students and parents will learn tools they can use for the rest of their lives!

Many of the families who take this course see improvement in their study skills, time management, organization, emotion regulation and other executive function skills. After using the skills taught in Proactive Parenting Course, students can better manage their school work, relationships and day to day life.

Is this course only about parenting?

Not at all. As you go through the lessons, you’ll also discover more about your own executive function patterns. You’ll learn strategies that make you not just a more effective parent, but also a more balanced partner, friend, and professional.

What age group is this for?

The Proactive Parenting Course is designed for parents of kids ages 8–13. These lessons help you guide your child through everyday challenges while building skills they’ll use for life.

Is this a live class that I need to attend?

No! This is a completely on-demand course that you can access whenever you want, as many times as you want!

How do the Community & Connection Calls work?

Once enrolled, you’ll receive a monthly invite to join Dr. Hansen and other parents live on Google Meet. You can bring your questions, listen in, or just connect with others walking a similar path.

I'm not a parent, but I am a caregiver for a student with Executive Function needs. Is this course for me?

Absolutely! This course is for anyone in a caregiving role, including but not limited to parents, grandparents, foster parents, aunts, uncles, etc.

I'm on a waitlist for services/therapy/coaching. Should I wait to take this course?

No need to wait! This course was designed to give you the tools and resources to help your child NOW.

Do I need a referral for this from my student’s medical provider or school?

No, you do not need a diagnosis or a referral to seek help at LifeFx® or take the Proactive Parenting course.

Do you take insurance?

LifeFx does not work directly with insurance. However, we can provide you with an itemized receipt, including the necessary codes, which you can submit to your provider for potential reimbursement. Many of our families have had success with this approach. Families have also used HSA/FSA funds or CADI/Medical Waiver funds. Coverage and reimbursement will depend on your specific insurance policy.

If insurance or reimbursement isn’t an option, we offer a split-pay payment plan for the cost of the course.

Are payment plans available for the Parenting Course?

Yes! We offer 2- or 3-month payment options to make the course more accessible.

Email Programs@LifeFxMN.com for help setting that up.
