Clinical-Level Executive Function Coaching

Clinical-Level Executive Function Coaching is a specialized service for individuals who understand and can explain LifeFx tools, but continue to feel stuck applying them consistently, particularly when mental health, emotional load, past experiences, or co-occurring diagnoses are part of the picture.

This service is led by a licensed clinician, either a clinical psychologist or a doctoral-level occupational therapist, and adds a consultative layer of support focused on understanding how internal factors may be interacting with executive function, even when motivation and effort are present.

The goal remains the same as traditional LifeFx coaching: strengthening executive function skills such as planning, task initiation, follow-through, and self-regulation. What changes is not the goal, but the lens.

Clinical-level coaching places greater emphasis on motivation, mental health, mood, and emotional load, helping individuals understand how these factors may be influencing their ability to receive, integrate, and consistently use the tools they have already learned through coaching.

Eligibility Requirement

Clinical-Level Executive Function Coaching is not a starting point.

To be eligible, individuals must first complete a minimum of six traditional LifeFx Executive Function Coaching sessions. This ensures they have a foundational understanding of LifeFx tools and strategies.

This service is intended as a secondary intervention when standard EF coaching alone is not enough.

Individuals seeking primarily emotional processing or therapeutic support will be referred to therapy instead.

How Sessions Are Used

Clinical-Level Executive Function Coaching is offered as a structured booster service. Sessions are suggested at a minimum frequency of once per month or every other month.

Sessions may be used:

  • Concurrently with traditional EF coaching or therapy
  • Or as a short-term, consultative support on their own

This flexible structure allows families to layer support based on current needs, stress levels, and life demands.

Providers

Clinical-Level Executive Function Coaching is offered by:

How Is This Coaching Is Different?

Clinical-Level Executive Function Coaching sits between traditional coaching and therapy. It is:

  • More clinically informed than standard EF coaching
  • More structured and skill-focused than therapy

Sessions may explore questions like:

  • How are anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma history, or emotional overwhelm impacting follow-through?
  • Is avoidance driven by motivation, mental health, comprehension, or nervous system overload?
  • What’s happening internally when expectations rise or pressure increases?

Clinicians can directly address mental health topics as they relate to executive functioning, but this service is not therapy. It does not include diagnosis or mental health treatment. If a clinician believes therapy would be a helpful additional support, they will make appropriate referrals.
